Initial Brief:
Space Safari, a boutique electronic music festival in Belgium, first approached me in 2024 to design their official festival poster. The goal was to craft a visually immersive piece that resonated with their audience—psychedelic, otherworldly, and distinctly Space Safari. The final design was so well received by festival-goers that the organisers invited me to become their official poster artist, commissioning all subsequent festival artwork moving forward.
Challenge:
With this new long-term collaboration, the challenge shifted from a one-time design to establishing a cohesive visual identity for Space Safari’s future editions. The artwork needed to evolve each year while remaining unmistakably “Space Safari”—a delicate balance between fresh creativity and brand continuity.
Creative Process:
Building on the success of the 2024 poster, I worked closely with the festival team to conceptualize a design that would not only encapsulate the festival’s signature cosmic aesthetic but also set the tone for years to come. We explored themes of intergalactic exploration, mind-expanding visuals, and deep, psychedelic landscapes—elements that would make each piece instantly recognizable while allowing room for evolution.
Execution:
The final concept was a collaborative effort between myself and the Space Safari team, blending their vision with my artistic interpretation. The design featured an intricate fusion of cosmic dreamscapes, ethereal figures, and hypnotic detailing, creating a visual narrative that echoed the festival’s immersive experience. Typography and layout were carefully composed to maintain clarity across promotional materials while reinforcing the psychedelic theme.
